Country singer, Devils goalie start relationship on Twitter
Should the Devils advance to the Stanley Cup playoffs in April, expect goalie Keith Kinkaid’s biggest fan to be in the stands.
Following the club’s 3-2 victory over the Predators in Nashville earlier this month, New Jersey’s netminder posed for a photo with country singer Taylor Acorn inside the Bridgestone Arena. Kinkaid, 28, must have made quite the impression, as the blond beauty hit him up for a date on social media days later.
“Hey @Blockaid1 how many RT’s for you to take me out on a date?” Acorn tweeted Thursday.
Kinkaid replied within minutes, setting a place and time: “Who needs retweets? Chipotle next Wednesday?”
With the Devils facing the Hurricanes and Penguins at home on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, Chipotle has offered Kinkaid a helping hand to ensure his first date with Acorn is a success.
“First date #goals. DM us and we’ll help make it a night to remember,” the chain tweeted Monday, to which Kinkaid responded, “I would if I could ??♀️.”
As for the Nashville-based Acorn, should she make her way to the tri-state area within the coming days, it wouldn’t be her first time at the Prudential Center.
In February, the singer-songwriter shared beers with a pal as the Bruins topped the Devils 5-3 in Newark. Swedish journeyman Eddie Lack, not Kinkaid, was in goal that night, as starter Cory Schneider had been sidelined due to injuries.
