Scottish Fashion Awards names 2015 winners
Christopher Kane, Hunter, Pringle of Scotland and Topman were all
winners at this year’s Scottish Fashion Awards, which took place at the
Corinthia Hotel in London last night, September 3.
London Fashion Week designer Christopher Kane continued his winning
streak at the Scottish Fashion Awards, once again picking up the Scottish
Designer of the Year accolade, while Hunter were named Scottish Accessory
Designer of the Year.
Topman scooped up the International Designer of the Year award for their
autumn/winter 2015 collection, which predominantly featured tartan prints.
Barrie Knitwear took home the Scottish Textile Brand of the Year, while
Cats Brothers were crowned Young Designers of the Year, and emerging
menswear designer Charles Jeffrey was named Scottish Graduate of the
Year.
There was also two retail awards given, Walker Slater winning Retailer
of the Year, while Belstaff’s Glasgow store collected Luxury Retailer of
the Year.
The awards also honoured Pringle of Scotland’s Massimo Nicosia and Katy
Wallace with the Founders Award, honouring their Scottish heritage and
design, while internationally renowned Scottish photographer David Eustace
was inducted in the Hall of Fame alongside previous recipients that include
Albert Watson, Stella Tennant, Sam McKnight and Colin McDowell.
Scottish Fashion Awards founder, Tessa Hartmann said: “Our aim was to
highlight Scotland’s contribution to the wider UK and international fashion
industry and I think this evening’s nominees do just that.
“We’re so proud that over the last ten years this event has become a
benchmark of success for the Scottish fashion industry. Long may it
flourish and grow along with the incredible talent that it aims to
represent.”
