Asim Umar, The Indian-Born Chief Of Al-Qaeda In South Asia, Killed In Afghanistan
Asim Umar, the head of the Al-Qaeda in South Asia was killed in a joint operation the Afghan and US forces, Afghan authorities have said.
According to the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Umar was killed in a raid on a Taliban compound in Helmand province on 23 September.
NDS also stated that six others were also killed along with him in the raid.
