Though, it was reported that all villages had been electrified ahead of its March 2019 deadline, names of many villages started surfacing where people were still living in the dark.

One such village was Jhalpi Para in Chhattisgarh which has finally got electricity for the first time since Independence. News agency ANI reported that the residents of the village had voiced their discontent over the absence of power supply in the village.
