The Latest on Brock Lesnar’s Status for WWE Super Show-Down PPV in Australia
Since news first broke that WWE would be returning to Melbourne for the first ever pay-per-view and Network special in Australia’s history, a major question has been whether or not Brock Lesnar will compete at the event this October.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Beast Incarnate is not currently scheduled to appear at WWE Super Show-Down, which will instead be headlined by Triple H vs. The Undertaker in what is being billed as their last encounter ever. Lesnar reportedly has one final match left on his contract with WWE, and it’s expected to play out at SummerSlam.
It’s potentially worth pointing out that the door is completely open for Lesner to sign another contract at any point. This is has been reported numerous times, but it will likely come down to whether or not he decides to return to the UFC for another fight. Because he must be in the USADA testing pool for six months before a fight, his window closes in just nine days if he wants to compete again in 2018.
If Lesnar doesn’t re-enter the testing pool there’s virtually no reason for him not to sign a new deal with WWE, at least on a part-time basis like he did after WrestleMania 34. He could always take some time off, but his long-time strategy of playing WWE and UFC against each other in order to renegotiate his deal over and over again has been incredibly lucrative, and he loses a lot of leverage if he lets his deal contract completely run out.
