Tianjin Songjiang make €20m a year offer to Edinson Cavani

Chinese outfit Tianjin Songjiang have made a €20m a year offer to PSG striker Edinson Cavani, and are willing to pay €50m to sign the player from Les Parisiens next month, according to our colleagues at France Football.

Tianjin Songjiang are situated in China’s fourth largest city and, after recently being promoted from the Chinese second division and having appointed Ballon D’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro as manager, are looking to become one of the largest clubs inside the Asian country.

The €20m a year salary that Tianjin Songjiang are offering Cavani would allow him to match watch Brazilian striker Hulk is earning at Shanghai SIPG.

Fabio Cannavaro called up PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi recently and confirmed to the Qatari that his club was willing to pay €50m to prise Edinson Cavani away from the French capital.

Needless to say, the response from all parties concerned was no. Contact has also been made by this club for Javier Pastore, where the answer was also no. However, our colleagues consider there to be a bigger possibility that Pastore changes his mind in the coming weeks than with Cavani for example.
