Hatem Ben Arfa will “very probably” join Barcelona this summer
According to today’s edition ofL’Équipe, OGC Nice attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa will “very probably” join FC Barcelona this summer.
In an incredible turn of events, with the player having failed at Hull City 18 months ago, the Les Aiglons talisman went to Barcelona on Sunday in order to meet with representatives from the Catalan side.
Éric Abidal is understood to have played a key role in bringing the parties together in order to discuss a possible move.

Hatem Ben Arfa, while very appreciative to OGC Nice for what they have done for him this summer, dreams of being in the Champions League next season, something that Barcelona would be able to give him, even if he is unlikely to be assured playing time at all.
According to a source close to the situation, “things have advanced well”between the two parties. Ben Arfa is of course a free agent next month, having only signed a one year deal with Les Aiglons last summer.
AC Milan, Besiktas, Villarreal, PSG and Lyon have all been in some form of contact of the French international but the daily sports newspaper is convinced that HBA has made his mind up and has decided to join Barcelona.
Simply astonishing.
