Ivanka Trump Reportedly Had Some Advice for Her Dad About Kavanaugh

The looming possibility of a Democratic takeover of both the House and Senate may be the only thing keeping Trump from attacking Ford directly. Possibly with Ivanka’s encouragement, he’s remained relatively silent about the ordeal, hoping to appease women voters. The more he angers any voter base, the more likely they are to turn against him.

“Trump knows the Senate is not looking good,” an adviser told VF. “It’s all about the impeachment, he knows it’s coming.”

Ivanka’s public silence mirrors her actions during the family separation situation earlier this year. Though she made no public comments about what was happening at the border as they occurred throughout June, CNN mentioned that she was against the policy and even spoke to her father before he signed his zero-tolerance executive order. It wasn’t until August that she broke her silence on the matter, saying that immigration, legal or not, is a complicated issue.

“I felt very strongly about that and I am very vehemently against family separation and the separation of parents and children so I would agree with that sentiment,” she said. “Immigration is incredibly complex as a topic. Illegal immigration is incredibly complicated.”
