Official | Ex-Manchester United youth player Saidy Janko joins St Étienne

St Étienne have completed another signing in the form of Celtic defender Saidy Janko for an undisclosed fee. Janko has penned a four-year deal with Óscar García’s side.

The 21-year-old was sent out on loan with League 2 outfit Barnsley last term after failing to receive game time in Scotland but will now have a perfect platform to kickstart his career, in Ligue 1.

The ex-Man Utd youth player operates primarily as a right-back but can adapt to a role further up the flank in midfield.

ASSE’s new number 15 said, “I am very happy to be here. AS Saint-Etienne is one of the biggest French clubs with a beautiful history and fantastic supporters.  Physically, I feel very good as I resumed training with Celtic two weeks ago.”
