River Island announces latest Design Forum designer

Fashion retailer River Island has confirmed that Zoë Jordan is the
latest designer to collaborate with the high street brand as part of its
Design Forum initiative.

Following in the footsteps of Christopher Shannon, Jean-Pierre Braganza,
James Long, Eudon Choi and Georgia Hardinge, Jordan will bring her
clean-lined aesthetic to the high street retailer with an 11-piece capsule
collection for autumn/winter 2015.

Inspired by Deep Purple lyrics ‘Smoke on the water, Fire in the sky,’
the collection features misty prints and charcoal hues with an ombré
effect. Natural elements are juxtaposed with manmade materials to create a
collection that harbours a dramatic tone with subtle elegance.

Once again the collection will launch during London Fashion Week in
September with a short film as part of the British Fashion Council’s
Fashion Film event, which is sponsored by the high street chain.

Commenting on the collaboration, Jordan said: “To get an insight to this
side of the world of fashion, it’s been a great learning experience, one
I’ve relished.

”I love the fact the family are still involved in running River Island
and they do a lot of British manufacturing. We are all about a more subtle
sophistication rather than shouting the loudest.”
