Pocket Watch Recovered From Man Who Died In Titanic Sinking Sold At Auction For Rs 40 Lakh

After 106 years of its sinking, Titanic had another moment of remembrance when a pocket watch that was recovered from a passenger who died on the ship was auctioned for $57,500 (over Rs 40, 27,012). The tragedy had taken place on April 15, 1912.

The event took place at Dallas on Saturday after the watch had been recovered from Sinai Kantor, the 34-year-old Russian immigrant who managed to get his wife, Miriam, to a lifeboat before he died in icy waters after a ship hit an iceberg.
