It took two delays and 7 minutes for this Rangers goal to count

LOS ANGELES — Delay of Game.

On the National Hockey League.

After enduring a delay of 6:58 for an offside challenge issued by San Jose coach Peter DeBoer at the Garden on Oct. 11 on a Brett Howden goal that stood, the Blueshirts (and the Kings) waited around for an astonishing 7:35 before Vladislav Namestnikov’s net-crashing goal at 11:11 of the first period was affirmed here Sunday afternoon.

After driving to the net from the right side, Namestnikov was sent flying into Kings goaltender Jack Campbell by Dale Lewis, thus knocking the net off its moorings just as the puck crossed the line. The original call on the ice was no-goal. A review from Toronto that lasted 2:35 overturned that call.

Instead of an immediate faceoff, the clubs skated aimlessly for another 2:43 before LA coach John Stevens issued a coach’s challenge for goaltender interference. Two minutes later, the goal was upheld. And 7:35 after the puck had crossed the line, the puck finally was dropped for the faceoff.

Opening puck-drop for this 4-3 Kings victory came at 12:39 p.m. The second period began at 1:44.

LOS ANGELES — Dave Maloney and his band were coming…

Tony DeAngelo, who’d been a healthy scratch for the previous six matches and eight of the first 10, recorded a no-angle goal from the right corner and added an assist in a solid 16:48 while paired with Brady Skjei. There would seem no reason for DeAngelo to come out of the lineup Tuesday in San Jose even if Adam McQuaid (lower body) is healthy enough to return after sitting out this one.

Pavel Buchnevich was benched again, the winger getting only four shifts for 2:39 in the third period and 11:21 overall. The winger played one 28-second shift over the final 8:24. … Filip Chytil played 3:44 in the third and 10:09 overall.

The Blueshirts were 0-for-3 on the power play while yielding two power-play goals while short four times.

Henrik Lundqvist is 0-3-1 in his last four, with a 3.74 GAA and .897 save percentage over that span.
