How MSG is replacing Ron Duguay for Rangers coverage
MSG Network is turning to a pair of familiar faces to replace Ron Duguay.
Duguay had been a mainstay of Rangers’ pre- and postgame coverage the past 12 years — doing around 40-45 games a season — but he and MSG announced last week that they’d be parting ways.
MSG will use a combination of radio analyst Dave Maloney and Anson Carter to replace Duguay alongside former goalie Steve Valiquette, who works every game, and hosts Bill Pidto and Al Trautwig. Carter played two seasons for the Rangers and has done broadcasting work for MSG in the past, as well as NBC Sports.
An exact number of games for Carter and Maloney has yet to be determined, but expect something in the 20 range.
“Thx for your support, I’ve truly enjoyed the last 12 years being a face and voice for the @NYRangers fans!!!” Duguay, a former Rangers center, tweeted last week.
